Das Freilichtmuseum dokumentiert seit mehr als 50 Jahren die Kulturgeschichte Schleswig-Holsteins.

Auf dem 40 Hektar großen Gelände werden 60 historische Gebäude aus dem 16. bis 20. Jahrhundert aus verschiedenen Landesteilen sowie der dänischen Grenzregion im Kontext einer gewachsenen Kulturlandschaft präsentiert.

Sonderausstellungen und Veranstaltungen - von großen Märkten, über Theateraufführungen und Konzerten bis hin zu Vorträgen - locken jährlich Tausende Besucher an.

Please note that in extreme weather conditions the museum may be closed during normal opening hours. Our service team will be happy to inform you about current changes.

You are welcome to bring your dog with you. Out of consideration for the visitors and the animals living in the area, please keep him on a leash and remove any dirt.

Smoking and any handling of open fire is not permitted on the entire museum grounds for fire protection reasons. Smoking areas can be found at the Torhaus, at the fair and in the garden of the dairy.

Sanitary facilities are available in the Torhaus, in the Winkelscheune, at the fair and at the Meierei.
