Future zero-emission ships rely on multiple energy sources, such as batteries, supercapacitors, and fuel cells. While this improves efficiency and sustainability, these technologies respond at different speeds and can interact in ways that affect the stability of the ship's electrical system. Simple everyday analogies will be used to explain why stability matters, why different energy sources must work together, and how engineers can predict and prevent instability before a ship power system is ever built.
