Hotel Kieler Yacht Club

The Hotel Kieler Yacht Club is one of the most traditional establishments in the city of Kiel. The Imperial Yacht Club was founded in 1887 as a "Marine Regatta Association" by officers of the Imperial Navy, in the building of the Kiel Marine Academy. Four years later, Emperor Wilhelm II approved the renaming of the "Marine Regatta Association" to the "Imperial Yacht Club" and declared himself its commodore.

In 1926, on the foundation of the old engine house, a clubhouse was built, which is now the Hotel Kieler Yacht Club, where the Kiel Yacht Club is still located today.
After World War II, in the early 1950s, the house was restored with great effort and was first used as a hotel in 1954.
After its acquisition by ThyssenKrupp AG in July 2007, the decision was made to refresh and renovate the old building in an ambitious manner.

Today, the Hotel Kieler Yacht Club features 17 double rooms and 4 suites. The former event rooms, such as the "Kaiser Saal" and "Commodore Hall," combine elegance and modern functionality. They are among the most traditional banquet rooms in the state capital.

After the renovation of the public areas by the new operators, the hotel welcomed guests again in June 2022 after more than 2 years of closure.
