Theater Die Komödianten

The theatre has a permanent house with 99 seats in a former locksmith's shop.

The theatre plays plays by contemporary authors in modern productions such as Martin Walser's DIE ZIMMERSCHLACHT, Franca Rame and Dario Fo or Sex - but with pleasure! But also modern classics, for example plays by Peter Handke: PUBLIKUMSBESCHIMPFUNG, by Tennessee Williams: OUT CRY, by Samuel Beckett: Waiting for GODOT or by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry: DER KLEINE PRINZ als Freilichttheater. 

At the Edinburgh fringe festival, a major international theatre festival, The Comedians was awarded four stars for its highly acclaimed street theatre version of "Waiting for Godot" by Samuel Beckett. In August 2007 the theatre Die Komödianten in co-production with the Schauspielhaus Kiel performed the joint production DIE ZOOGESCHICHTE by Edward Albee as street theatre at the Edinburgh fringe Festival.
