Möltenort fishing port

Heikendorf-Möltenort harbour is a maritime gem on the east side, the sunny side of the Kiel Fjord.

It is divided into the marina with around 200 berths and the fishing harbour with around 110 berths, has a water depth of up to 4 metres and is equipped with all desirable harbour facilities. Smaller, medium-sized and partly large yachts, sailing, motor and fishing boats give the harbour its special maritime character.

Description of the harbour

Beautiful, quiet harbour on the sunny side of the Kiel Fjord, directly opposite the entrance to the Kiel Canal. The harbour has two entrances which are lit at night. Guest berths are very welcome. Larger yachts are also welcome to use the yacht berths in the fishing harbour (north entrance near the lightship). Free berths are marked with green signs.

Dangers

The harbour entrances are easy to reach. In the fairway, watch out for commercial shipping. Directly at Möltenort harbour is a ferry pier of the Fördeschifffahrt, which operates according to a timetable. The harbour is well protected against swell.

Firing

The harbour consists of two basins. The southern (right) one is completely designed as a marina, with jetties and dolphins, for yachts up to about 13 metres in length. The northern (left) basin consists of yacht berths and fishing spots. There is also room here for larger vessels.

On the sunny side of the Kiel Fjord lies the Möltenort harbour. Here you can enjoy a beautiful view of the fjord and experience great sunsets. In the harbour you will find the lightship Laesö/Rende and also some professional fishermen who offer their catch almost daily. Near the harbour are kiosks, three restaurants and a beautiful bathing beach, a seaside bathing establishment and the submarine memorial with the well-known, large eagle. The small town centre with supermarket, pharmacy, restaurants, etc. is about 800 metres from the harbour. The Fjord Hiking Trail invites you to take a walk, and the nearby Kitzeberg Golf Course is also within easy reach. For excursions to Laboe or Kiel, you can take the Fjord Ferry or the bus connection.
