The Museum of the History of Medicine and Pharmacies.
The medical history collection contains mainly instruments, devices and examination chairs from the 19th and 20th centuries. A special collection is made up of approx. 700 patient portraits, which were made for the Kiel Surgical Clinic in the 19th century. The collection of preparations from the Institute of Pathology with wet preparations from 1885 to 1960, extensive collections of X-ray tubes and osteosyntheses as well as a collection on dentistry with objects from 1860 to 1980 are also worthy of mention.
The pharmacy history section contains 19th century pharmacy equipment from Schleswig-Holstein and equipment for the production of medicines in pharmacies. Parts of the collection can be accessed via the following portals:
