Maritime bike tour

The state capital Kiel is characterised by the Baltic Fjord Kieler Förde, the end of which, the Hörn, protrudes deep into the city. Since Kiel was founded almost 800 years ago, its location on the water, at the intersection of Germany and Scandinavia, has been the hub of all important developments and events: Canal construction, Olympics, shipbuilding, ferry and cruise port, centre of marine research.
Its unique location and attractive surroundings also make Kiel an ideal spot for cyclists. Extended cycle paths stretch along the fjord and a network of signposted cycle routes runs through the city.
