FROM TRAUMFABRIK TO TRAUMGMBH

We would like to welcome you to our restaurant within an industrial building of a former foundry. You are in the moulding shop where the moulds were made.

The moulds were cast next door in one of the two halls. With the introduction of new production methods in metal processing, the foundry was closed in the 1960s. Later, a seed factory moved into industrial construction.

The tower, in which the silos for the grain are still located today, also dates from this period. From 1987 until today these rooms have been operated as a gastronomic, multicultural centre under a different, similar name, which is still known to many people from Kiel. After a long legal dispute about the name, we were forced to change it to TraumGmbH. 
In addition to this restaurant, the old industrial building also houses a cinema and two discotheques, where various events take place: From rock and pop concerts, big parties, family celebrations and political events to poetry readings or slide shows.
