The Old Botanical Garden in Kiel
The overall impression of the Old Botanical Garden is determined by its unique tree population. In addition to the old, beautiful and valuable trees, the diverse herbaceous flora offers new impressions of colours and shapes all year round.
In contrast to the new Botanical Garden, its location directly on the Kiel Fjord offers a special microclimate, so that plants thrive and fructify here that would normally not survive our often harsh winters, such as the coastal sequoia. The diverse plant world offers over 40 bird species, numerous insects and small animals food basis and habitat in the middle of the city.
