Lighthouse Bülk
As the oldest lighthouse on the Kiel Fjord, Bülk Lighthouse has a unique charm with the Baltic Sea in the background. The lower platform at a height of 22 metres is accessible and offers a magnificent view. At the foot of the lighthouse visitors will find the popular Pavilion Restaurant. Here the lighthouse team takes care of the physical well-being of the guests with a panoramic view of the sea. Afterwards, it's worth taking a refreshing walk in the fresh sea breeze. Also popular: Simply park your camper or van in the parking lot directly at the lighthouse and enjoy a relaxed view of the Baltic Sea. The lighthouse Bülk marks as an orientation light the entrance into the Kiel Fjord and with a red warning sector the shoal Stoller Grund. The beacon is automated and is remotely monitored by the traffic control center of Travemünde. Started in 1862 by Danes, the construction of the present lighthouse could not be completed until 1865 by Prussians because of the German-Danish War. The Bülk lighthouse has been open to the public since August 1996.
